We are onto our second week of work now. Unfortunately the unseasonable weather has delayed our grapes even longer. No grapes means no real work. Our contracts stipulate that we must work 40 hours per week so every morning we wake up at 5am and head into work. The winery is sparkling its so clean!

My official title is "Weighbridge Manager". Yep, thats right- no experience or knowledge in wine warrants a manager title. I do have a computer and a laptop- pretty official business. My job consists of weighing the trucks, checking the grapes, taking samples of the juice, tracking the deliveries/ tonnage, communicating with the growers, imputing the data into the computer, and ensuring the juice is headed to the right press. Oh, and I also get to hang out with my awesome coworkers and some truck drivers.

Kyle is in charge of Press 3, more commonly known as Fat Boy Slim (the pipes are literally labeled that). We won't even think about how expensive this piece of machinery is... His job is to make sure the press does not overflow and that it heads to the right tanks. He also has the fun job of cleaning the press.

In other news, we get Good Friday and "Easter Monday" off! Yes- because we are a day ahead, NZ celebrates Easter on a MONDAY. so bizarre (even Macca's is closed on these state holidays- doubt the same is true in America)
