Before we pulled into Auckland we decided to head a little
ways east to check out the Coromandel Peninsula. It is a beautiful area with
great beaches that Aucklanders use for a weekend or summer escape when the city
gets too hot. It was a spectacular drive, highlighted by an unexpected Farmers
Market in the middle of nowhere, and the jaw dropping Cathedral Cove. We both
agree that the cove was one of the prettiest places we have seen, and it was
even warm enough for a swim! The last leg of our trip in NZ takes us to
Auckland, home of a quarter of New Zealand’s population.
