so long Bounty

putting his tools to good use

Our last day at Bounty Island has arrived. It stormed all night long- between the waves crashing, the wind whipping the palm trees, and rain drops smacking our tin roof, it was a rough nights sleep. The water is pretty choppy so we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping the boat transport is still running despite the weather. Bounty has been awesome. We got two solid days of sunshine, full of snorkeling, laying on the beach, and reading in the hammock. Kyle even relaxed enough to take a nap! It has been by far the best weather we have seen in Fiji. Yesterday we took a walk through the interior of the island. They have a trail carved out and it was like hiking through the jungle. Right now we are sitting in the bar and pool area watching the ocean and waiting for the boat to pick us up at 12:30. Tomorrow we are headed to New Zealand and will hopefully be staying at Base Auckland, a hostel with 500 beds and the main hub for travelers like us.
